Bulls beat Boston in O/T

(The Sports Xchange) — – -Pau Gasol scored 29 points with 16 rebounds, and the Chicago Bulls held on for a 109- 104 points win in overtime against the Boston Celtics Saturday night.

Aaron Brooks added 19 points for the Bulls (24-10), who won for the ninth time in the past 10 games.

Chicago won despite playing without leading scorer Jimmy Butler who missed the game on bereavement leave.

Boston forward Evan Turner scored a season-high 29 points to lead the Celtics (11-20).

Spurs 101, Wizards 92

The San Antonio Spurs held the Washington Wizards to 15 points in the fourth quarter and pulled away for a win.

Corey Joseph scored 17 of his team-high 19 points in the first quarter for the Spurs (21-14) who led by just one point entering the fourth.

Bradley Beal and point guard John Wall led the Wizards (22-11) with 15 points apiece.

Rockets 115, Heat 79

Dwight Howard paced the scoring in a runaway second quarter, and James Harden did the same in an explosive third period as the Houston Rockets routed Miami.

Howard scored 19 of his 23 points in the second quarter, half of the Rockets’ total as Houston (23-10) flipped a four-point deficit into a 61-49 lead at the intermission. Harden tallied 15 of his 28 points in the third as the Rockets outscored the Heat (14-20) 71-33 over the middle two periods.
