Lloyd disappointed with Gayle’s comments

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC-Chairman of selectors Clive Lloyd says he is disappointed with comments made by opener Chris Gayle criticizing the decision to omit Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard from the West Indies squad for next month’s World Cup.

WPA accuses Norway, IDB of conspiracy over Amaila funds

The Working People’s Alliance (WPA) today accused Norway and the Inter-American Development Bank of a conspiracy over funding for the planned Amaila Falls Hydropower Project in light of arrangements for US$80M which would comprise Guyana’s equity despite a Parliamentary vote against the project on various grounds.

CCJ ruling in favour of Suriname beverage company still to be honoured

Government has failed to honour a ruling by the Caribbean Court of Justice (ICJ) to pay Suriname company Rudisa Beverages some US$6,047,244.47 ($1.2 billion) over the collection of an environmental tax that contravenes the Revised Treaty of Chagua-ramas (RTC) and according to Attorney General Anil Nandlall this is because of the current non-sitting of the National Assembly.

City nurses still not paid

Two nurses attached to the Mayor and City Council (M&CC) are still to be paid since last August, although acting Town Clerk Carol Sooba yesterday told city councillors that she had already signed the approval for payments.
