An article in yesterday’s edition under the headline ‘Man cleared of drug charge – after court finds ecstasy not listed as prohibited substance’ was incorrect. In fact, the man was allegedly found with methamphetamine, which is sometimes found in ecstasy. Both are on the prohibited list, but methamphetamine is listed as a psychotropic substance in the Narcotics Act.
The man was not charged with having a psychotropic substance, hence he was cleared of the charge. Stabroek News regrets the error.
