Victory Valley/Scheme and Amelia’s Ward Front secured the opening night wins when the Linden Town Week Inter-Ward Basketball Tournament commenced on Monday at Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Hard-Court.
Victory Valley/Scheme blew out Blueberry Hill/Christianburg by a 80-43 score line while Amelia’s Ward Front edged Central/Retrieve/Kara-Kara by a 59-56 margin in the eight team tourney organized by the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA).
With the wins, both teams advanced to the semi-final round. The action in the tourney continues tonight at the same venue with a doubleheader. Amelia’s Ward Back will lock horns with Kwakwani while Half Mile/One Mile will match skills with Block 22/ Wisroc.
