Hopes for medal rests with George today

Hopes for a medal at this year’s Pan Am Games are fading fast with sprinter Adam Harris and hurdler Jenea Mc Cammon failing to medal in yesterday’s events as the 33rd Pan Am games continued yesterday in Canada.

Harris, 28, competing in the third of three heats of the men’s 100m event yesterday failed to finish while the 24-year-old Mc Cammon placed eighth in the women’s 400m hurdles clocking 1:03:21 seconds.

This morning Olympian Winston George will compete in the first semi-final of the men’s 400m.

George has a tough task of advancing as he has the slowest personal best time of the eight competitors. George’s personal best time is 45.57 and only two other athletes have a personal best of over 45 seconds, the remaining five athletes have all run under 45 seconds.
