Ben Mekdeci and Michael Atherly secured impressive wins over Medhi Ramdhani and Rafael DeGroot respectively when the Lucozade Handicap Squash Championship continued on Thursday at the Georgetown Club facility.
Sporting a handicap of (-13), Mekdeci defeated Ramdhani (-6) in straight sets 2-0 (15/13, 15/14) while Atherly (-2) overcame DeGroot 2-1 (13/15, 15/4, 15/2). Similarly, Guyana Squash Association (GSA) President David Fernandes defeated Susie DeAbreu 2-1 (12/15, 15/10, 15/8).
In other results, Kamir Khan beat Beau Fernandes 2-0 (15/7, 15/5) while Jonathan Fernandes defeated Thi Fernandes 2-0 (15/8, 15/7), Daniel Islam downed Frankie Vieira 2-0 (15/7, 15/6) and Madison Fernandes dismissed Shiloh Asregado 2-0 (15/12, 15/12).
Ashley DeGroot downed Dwayne Yan 2-0 (15/12, 15/13) while Maya Collins crushed Kirsten Gomes 2-0 (15/8, 15/5), Dominic Collins defeated Mohryan Baksh 2-0 (15/12, 15/12) and Aliyah Persaud downed Chad DeAbreu 2-0 (15/13, 15/11).
The final results of the night saw Jason Gomes edging Geovanna DoSantos 2-0 (15/11, 15/9) whilst Abosaide Cadogan defeated Louis DaSilva 2-0 (15/10, 15/11), James Mekdeci dismissed Liam Carpenter 2-0.
