Starting the match eight points behind her opponent, DeGroot prevailed over her foe, winning in straight sets 15/11, 15/13. Similarly, Kirsten Gomes squeaked past Jason Gomes 2-1 (15/6, 9/15, 15/8) while Mohryan Baksh defeated Liam Carpenter 2-0 (15/11, 15/9). In other results, Michael Atherly defeated David Fernandes 2-1.
On Friday, Taylor Fernandes defeated Adam Alves 2-0 (15/7, 15/10) in their Open Divisional fixture while Regan Pollard (-14), defeated Alex Cheeks (-8) 2-0 (15/11, 15/11) and Peter-Michael DeGroot crushed Nicholas Narain 2-0 (15/12, 15/8) in the same section.
In Category-A, Dominic Collins defeated Abosaide Cadogan 2-0 (15/7, 15/12) while Demetrius DeAbreu crushed Georgina Fernandes 2-0 (15/11, 15/1) and Maya Collins dismissed James Mekdeci 2-0 (15/9, 15/10).
Continuing in the same section, Demetrius DeAbreu defeated Madison Fernandes 2-0 (15/12, 15/12) whilst Ethan Jonas edged Georgina Fernandes 2-1 (15/12, 0/15 15/13) and Michael Alphonso overcame Ethan Jonas (11/15, 15/11, 15/10). Action in the event will conclude today at the same venue.
