Remanded robbery accused leaves court in tears

A man left the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday shackled and in tears after he was refused bail on a charge of robbery with aggravation.

It is alleged that on November 1, Shawn DeSantos robbed Debra Craigen of $2,000 at South Ruimveldt.

The accused was not allowed to plead to the indictable charge.

However, in a rant, DeSantos told the court that there is no case against him and that he is innocent.

Magistrate Alex Moore gave the prosecution three weeks to address unresolved matters regarding the case and ordered the accused to return to court on November 30.
