Two men were yesterday charged with killing Onderneeming miner Sheldon Rodrigues.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in a city court, Gregory Thomas, 28, and Levi France, 25 were not required to plead to the charge, which states that on November 2nd, 2015 at Aruwai Falls Top, Cuyuni River, they murdered Rodrigues.
No particulars of the charge were read in court.
Rodrigues, 36, was allegedly killed around 02.15 am on November 2nd. The two suspects subsequently confessed to the crime, police had previously said.
The case was transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where a hearing is scheduled for November 27th.
