A St Ignatius man is dead after he lost control of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) he was riding on Monday night in Lethem.
Dead is Trevor Mansingh, 34, who according to ‘F’ Division Commander Senior Superintendent Ravindradat Budhram sustained serious head injuries and succumbed hours after in a Boa Vista hospital.
Boa Vista is Brazilian town located across the border from Lethem.
Many times those in Region Nine who require critical medical attention will opt to go to Boa Vista as it is closer and much easier to get to than Georgetown.
Budhram explained that Mansingh was riding at a fast rate in Lethem around 8.30 pm when the bricks on the road caused the ATV to skid. Mansingh, he said, then lost control and fell. He was rushed to the Lethem Hospital in a critical state and later transferred to Boa Vista, where he died.
