Diamond mason granted bail on break and enter charge

A Diamond Housing Scheme mason was yesterday placed on $15,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of breaking and entering.

Dane Bobb, 39, of 1032 Diamond Housing Scheme, was accused of breaking and entering the storage bond of Kevin Gonsalves and taking six buckets, three spades, one shovel, a sledgehammer, a water pitcher, a hammock, netting, four sacks of cement and 15 pounds of nails. The total value of those items is estimated to be $35,000.

Bobb, unrepresented at the time of his hearing, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

As the prosecution made no objection to bail, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan granted same in the sum of $25,000 but later reduced it to $15,000 following a request by the defendant.

The matter has been transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court and adjourned to January 22.
