Woman fined $10,000 for damaging judge’s vehicle

A woman was found guilty and fined $10,000 for damaging the fender of a judge’s vehicle in April, 2014.

Sarah Pigot, 29, on April 13, at Sheriff Street, unlawfully and maliciously damaged the left rear fender of Justice Navindra Singh’s vehicle. She was charged and released on bail on April 15, 2014.

Pigot had denied that she had damaged the left rear fender of the vehicle, PRR 505. Her lawyer had pleaded that no injury was inflicted on Justice Singh and that it was the normal response of from anyone to become enraged when provoked. One of the mitigation factors was that Justice Singh had provoked her to doing what she did. Magistrate Delon Best, however, found her guilty of the crime on November 12, 2014 and fined her $10,000.
