Silver City through to second round

Silver City Valley booked their berth in the second round of Brooklyn X2 Promotions Inter-Ward knockout football tourney defeating Train-Line by a 2-1 margin on Friday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground in Linden.

Deon Wills opened the scoring for the winners compliments of a 38th minute conversion. Train-Line would equalize in the 47th minute as Deon Archer found the back of the net.

However, Silver City would claim the win as Wills netted his double compliments of a 70th minute conversion. In the opening fixture of the night, Canvas City edged Block 22 by a 1-0 score line.

Kevin Ali settled the fixture with 78th minute of conversion. The action continues today at the same venue with a doubleheader. In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Blueberry Hill will lock horns with Wisroc. The main matchup of the night will witness Kara-Kara locking horns with Christianburg from 21:00hrs.

Event victors will walk away with $400,000 and the championship trophy while the second place side will receive $200,000 and the respective trophy. The third positioned side will receive $125,000 and the corresponding trophy while the fourth place finisher will receive $75,000.
