Farmer found dead in Hill Foot home

The lifeless body of a farmer, his limbs bound, was found in his Hill Foot, Soesdyke/Linden Highway home yesterday afternoon following a suspected robbery.

Dead is 60-year-old Anthony Breedy of Lot 67 Hill Foot, Soesdyke/Linden Highway. Breedy owned and operated a farm located at Rockstone, Linden, having returned from Montserrat last year where he had reportedly worked as an Agriculture Officer.

The police in a press release said the discovery of Breedy’s body was made around 11 am yesterday in the lower flat of his home. There were multiple injuries to his head while the upper flat was ransacked. The hands and feet of the man, who lived alone, were also tied, the release added.

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum informed this newspaper that a piece of wood, suspected to be the murder weapon was recovered while the police are seeking to question three individuals who were said to be employees of Breedy. His jeep is also missing.

According to reports, Breedy was last seen alive around 2 pm on Saturday. A friend of his visited to take some fruits for him yesterday morning and found him lying motionless on the ground of bottom flat with blood about his body.

A bed sheet had been used to bind his hands and feet. There was no indication of forced entry into the house.

His body is currently at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
