Enterprise vendor stabbed in row over gay slur

Michael April, an Enterprise village vendor, is now in critical condition after he was stabbed to the neck during an altercation.

The altercation, which took place along the Melanie Public Road around 11.30 am yesterday, reportedly developed after his assailant referred to him using a gay slur.

April was in the presence of his girlfriend at the time the comment was made and a heated argument ensued, during which a knife was pulled, and April was stabbed to the neck.

The injured man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment and up to late yesterday afternoon was still undergoing surgery.
