Homeless man draws 12 months for break and enter

A homeless man was sentenced on Wednesday to 12 months in prison after he admitted to a charge of breaking and entering.

On June 19, Junior Luther, 42, broke and entered the dwelling place of Claremont Gibson at Waterloo Street, Luther, who has no fixed place of abode, pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Alex Moore.

According to the defendant, though he did not break into the home of the virtual complaint, he was pleading guilty because he wished not to waste the time of the court. Luther told the court that he has no one and begged for leniency. According to him, another person had broken into the home of Gibson.

The prosecutor told the court that Gibson was caught in the house and had tried to escape from the virtual complainant. According to the prosecutor, Luther had a previous conviction and has no fixed place of abode.
