Deaths of children should raise awareness of security

Dear Editor,

I wish to extend my sympathy to the parents and other relatives of the two children who perished in the fire whilst in the custody of the Child Care and Protection Agency of the Ministry of Social Security.

It is indeed tragic that the children perished in what was supposed to be a safe haven for children.

One can only hope the unfortunate deaths of these two children would serve to raise the security awareness of the relevant authorities that when it comes to security of those in homes for children and the elderly, all efforts must be made to ensure maximum security.

May I take this opportunity to extend condolences to the relatives and friends of the late Walter Willis, who was one of the country’s leading engineers.

Yours faithfully,

Hydar Ally
