The Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground in Bourda will come alive on Sunday August 7th when the Mayor’s Cup Football Championship resumes with four exciting fixtures from 15:00hrs.

In the opening salvo, the Guyana Police Force will take aim at fellow Georgetown unit Camptown whilst the second engagement will pit Georgetown unit Riddim Squad against West Demerara unit Beavers FC from 17:00hrs.

In the third affair, Santos will lock horns with West Demerara giant Pouderoyen FC from 19:00hrs while the final showdown of the evening will pit the West Ruimveldt unit Western Tigers against West Demerara unit Den Amstel from 21:00hrs.

The event will resume at the same venue with the quarterfinal round of fixtures on Friday August 19th while the semi-final round will commence two days later at the same location.

Winner of the event will receive $700,000 and the championship trophy compliments of Aruwai Resort while the runners-up will pocket the package of $300,000 and the ANSA McAl trophy.

On the other hand, the third-place finisher will receive $200,000 and the corresponding John Fernandes-titled trophy while the fourth-place unit will receive the package of $100,000 and the Ministry of State accolade.

Similarly, the victorious side will receive hampers donated by Ricks and Sari. On the individual side, the event’s top scorer will walk away with a three-piece suite compliments of AH&L Kissoon Furniture Store.
