Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Vintage and GCC Spartans secured contrasting wins in the elimination round when the Lucozade Indoor Hockey Championship continued on Thursday at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
Vintage downed Bounty GCC 2-0 via the penalty shootout route after normal time ended 4-4. With both sides given three strikes each, Devin Hooper and Eric Hing scored for Vintage while Kareem McKenzie and Kevin Spencer missed for Bounty GCC.
Earlier, Eric Hing, Patrick Edghill, Devin Hooper and Dwayne Scott netted for Vintage in the 19th, 29th, 33rd and 39th minute correspondingly while Spencer netted a hat trick in the 16th, 17th and 38th minute while McKenzie contributed a conversion in the 37th minute.
Meanwhile in the women’s section, Spartans downed Old Fort 4-0. Marzana Fiedtkou recorded a hat-trick in the fourth, 21st and 40th minute while Shebiki Baptiste netted in the seventh minute.
