Plantain and Cheese make light work of East Side Jammers

Empire, Hustlers and Silvertown All-Stars were amongst the teams to seal spots to the next round when the third annual New Era Entertainment/Mohamed Enterprise Futsal tournament continued Monday.

Staged at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Hard-Court, Linden, Empire crushed Mile Spot 10-3. Jermaine Mason recorded a helmet-trick in the 19th, 20th, 32nd and 38th minute while Kevin Beaten registered a hat-trick in the second, 22nd and 30th minute.

Chipping in with a brace was Trenton Lashley in the 31st and 34th minute while Curt Johnson netted in the opening minute. For the losing team, Kalvin Batson scored twice in the 14th and 31st minute while Devon Tudor netted in the 30th minute.

In another fixture, Hustlers outhustled  Axe 9-2. Donovan Francis bagged a hat-trick in the fourth, 19th and 30th minute while Jermaine Scotland scored twice in the 10th and 11th minute and Devon London twice in the 39th and 40th minute.

Chipping in the 18th and 35th minute were Deon Charton and Sean Brewley respectively. On target in the loss were Delroy Gallay and Lawrence Stellenburg in the eighth and 33rd minute respectively.

Meanwhile, Silvertown All-Stars edged Trendsetters 7-6. Allan Rene scored five times in the 33rd, 39th, 39th, 40th and 40th minute while Marlon Bishop netted in the 29th and 31st minute.

For the losers, Kevin Gittens netted in the sixth and 11th minute while Kwesi Johnson, Delon Luke, Leo Ross and Jamal Bentick scored in the 26th, 27th, 35th and 39th minute respectively.

In other results, Plantain and Cheese crushed East Side Jammers 7-2. Al Chester scored four times in the 29th, 35th, 36th and 39th minute while Andre Chester netted in the 25th and 32nd and Bryan Johnson scored in the 27th minute.

For Jammers, Tyron Smith and Carlov Campbelle netted in the 13th and 35th minute.

In the final fixture, Coomacka United drove away from Town Cars 7-3. Kevin Daw scored a hat-trick in the 16th, 27th and 29th minute while Lorrick Daw scored twice in the ninth and 90th minute. The other vgoals were scored by Damien Williams and Caleb Ehienne in the 31st and 34th minute apiece.

For the losing side, Kevon Dandrade scored in the 13th and 35th minute while Sean Johnson netted in the 15th minute.
