Two more wanted over Baroda bank robbery

The Guyana Police Force yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for two men wanted in connection with the robbery of the Bank of Baroda branch at Mon Repos, just two days after three suspects were charged.

Police said Shawn Harris, called ‘Shawny’ or ‘Bruk Up,’ and Timothy Asher Morrison, 26, of Lot 40 Bougainvillea Park, East Bank Demerara, are both wanted for questioning in connection with the robbery, which was carried out last week Friday.

Four men, one of whom was armed with a gun, had entered the bank and held up the lone female private security guard on duty and took away her .32 service revolver.

During the attack, which lasted for about five minutes, the men then held up the two female tellers, grabbing over $2M in cash and escaping in a waiting car bearing false registration plate PNN 8984.

Eon Campbell, Sean Aaron and Kennard Jabar were charged on Wednesday with robbing tellers Raywanttie Lall and Latchmie Mohabir of $2,075,900 in cash and security guard Shirley Lucas of a .32 Taurus revolver.

They were remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who transferred to matter to Vigilance Magistrate’s Court for February 9.

Police are asking that anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Harris and Morrison to contact them on telephone numbers 229-2289, 229-2557, 229-2700-3, 226-9941, 225-6411, 911 or the nearest police station.
