According to the owners of the business, they were alerted to the theft after a passerby noticed that the pharmacy’s front door was wide open.

Phusmattie Bhigroog, the mother of Poonai Bhigroog, who is the proprietor of the pharmacy, explained that around 6 am yesterday someone passed and called on her son and informed him that the door was opened. “They told him that his shop door is open. So the person ask if he close the door and he said yes,” she said.

After being alerted, her son and his wife hurried downstairs to the pharmacy and found that “the place open and the lock cut and everything.”

The elder Bhigroog said while the business has a security system, the alarm did not sound off that evening. “We get a alarm. If any little thing, it goes off and last night it didn’t go off,” she said.

Bhigroog stated that they do not suspect anyone in particular to be the perpetrator.

A police investigation has since been launched into the burglary.
