Fruta Conquerors and Buxton United secured wins over Monedderlust and Victoria Kings when the Guyana Football Federation GFF Stag Beer Elite League continued Sunday at the Buxton Community Ground.
Fruta Conquerors downed Monedderlust 3-1 with goals from Solomon Austin, Eon Alleyne and the returning Travis Thornhill in the fourth, 57th and 75th minute respectively while Akeemo Watts scored his team?s consolation goal in the 61st minute.
Fruta Conquerors now has 19 points and occupies the second position while Monedderlust remains in the cellar position on three points.
Meanwhile, Buxton United downed Victoria Kings 2-0 in the East Coast of Demerara derby. William Europe and Dillon Wright scored in the 40th and 89th minute respectively.
With the win, Buxton United now occupies the third position with nine points while the losers are in fourth place and remain on eight points. The event resumes this Sunday at the Tucville Community Ground.
