Dave and Celina All Stars in mouth-watering semi-final clash

Defending champions Team 25 will clash with Dave and Celina All-Stars while Silver Bullets will tackle Swag Entertainment tomorrow in the semifinals of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden edition on Monday.

Staged at the Amelia’s Ward Tarmac, Team 25 whipped 2012 and 2015 champs Amelia’s Ward Russians 4-1. Ryan Halley gave the defending champs the lead in the sixth minute with a powerful shot down the centre of the net, from the centre of the field.

It became 2-0 in the 14th minute when Ruel Williams scored, blasting a shot from outside the centre of the box, which sailed into the back of the net.

The home side eventually reduced the deficit in the 22nd minute through Oswald Benjamin who converted a penalty.

However, Team 25 restored their two goal cushion two minutes later through Teon Stewart, who converted following a two-on-one situation.

The result was then sealed in the 26th minute when Ryan Noel raced down the center of the field and finished  into the centre of the net with the outside of his boot.

In another fixture Dave and Celina All-Stars thrashed Young Kings 3-0. Cordell Johnson, Rawle Gittens and Sean Brewley were on target in the fourth, 12th and 21st minute respectively.

In the third quarter-final, Swag Entertainment overcame Cherokee Park 2-0 on penalty kicks after regulation and extra time swathe match ending 1-1. Colwyn Drakes equalized for the eventual winners in the 25th minute, after Nantambu Akbar gave Cherokee Park the lead in the fourth minute.

In the fourth fixture, Jermaine and Family Silver Bullets edged High Rollers 2-1 on penalty kicks after regulation and extra time saw the match ending 1-1. Jermaine Samuels was on target in the 29th minute for the winners after after Kendolph Lewis had given High Rollers the lead in the first minute.
