One day football competition set for tomorrow at Tucville ground

The second annual ‘Church Meets the Street’ football competition will officially commence tomorrow (May 5th) at the Tucville Secondary School Ground from 9:30hrs.

The one day event which is coordinated in partnership by C&A Unique and South Quake Youth Ministry, features approximately 40 teams competing in an elimination format.

Winner of the tournament will receive $50,000 and the championship trophy while the runners-up will walk away with $25,000 and the corresponding accolade. The third place finisher will receive $15,000.

According to an official release from the coordinators, “This event is geared towards bringing together youths from the church and youths from the streets that might be involved in domestic problems, depression, drug use, suicidal thoughts, etc. and also to build a bridge between persons the church and the men that plays football”
