Head-Office, Berbice Branch suffer defeats as Banks DIH Ltd., tapeball competition continues

Vehicle Workshop and Distribution/Warehouse secured easy wins over Head-Office and Berbice Branch respectively when the Banks DIH Limited Inter-Department tapeball cricket competition continued Thursday at the Thirst Park ground.

Vehicle Workshop humbled Head-Office by 48 runs. Taking first strike the veteran Vehicle Workshop unit scored an impressive 112/3 from their allotted 10 overs.

A.Rasheed top scored with 33 runs from 16 balls with three sixes and two fours  while Owen Granum added 27 runs from a mere 15 balls striking three sixes and one four.

Extras contributed 15 runs to the total.

Bowling for Head-Office, Paul Ramcharitar captured 1-3 in his only over, while Jailall Udan took 1-25 from two overs.

In reply, Head-Office struggled to 64/5 with Ron Harris top scoring with 21 runs. There were 14 extras.

Rasheed was the pick of the bowlers with 2-5 from two overs while M. Seepersaud supported with 2-11.

Meanwhile, Distribution/Warehouse defeated Berbice Branch by six wickets. Set a target of 84 runs, Distribution/Warehouse ended on 85/4 in 8.4 overs.

Bailey top scored with 25 runs [2×6] from 18 balls, while F. Tulsidas smashed 21 runs [2×6, 2×4] from a mere five balls.

Seelall recorded bowling figures of 2-16 in two overs, while L. Cort supported with 1-8 in his two over spell.

Prior to their successful chase, Distribution/Warehouse restricted Berbice to 83/6. R. Das scored 20 runs [2×6, 1×4], while D. Perriera added 12 runs.

Bowling for Distribution/Warehouse, B. Bailey took 2-6 from two overs and Marlon Gibson 2-14 also from two overs. The event resumes on Monday at the same venue with two more matches.

At 18:00hrs, Brewery will oppose Vehicle Workshop while Sales Department will engage Water Plant at 20:00hrs
