Waramuri miner stabbed to death

A northwest miner is now dead after being stabbed several times during the course of an argument close to midnight on Tuesday.

The deceased has since been identified as 25-year-old Rondae Peters of Waramuri Village, Moruca.

According to the man’s brother-in-law Colin La Cruz,   Peters was said to have been imbibing with several others when a misunderstanding erupted  between him and another individual from the same community.

As a result, Peters was dealt several stabs, three to his chest and two to his back.

Stabroek News understands that Peters died shortly after and his body was left lying on the ground, until 7:30hr yesterday morning.

La Cruz noted that the attacker and other persons who were present at the time of the incident made attempts to flee the scene, however several members of the community converged on him and captured him and handed him over to the police.

The brother-in-law noted that Peters had recently returned home to attend his father’s funeral.
