Den Amstel suffers first loss

League leader Den Amstel suffered their first loss in the West Demerara zone of the NAMILCO U17 Football League, going down 4-2 to Eagles FC yesterday at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground.

Eagles secured the unlikely result, led by a double from Ronaldo Macey in the fourth and 75th minute. He was assisted by Glenroy Duncan and Adrian Adolph, who scored in the 32nd and 60th minute apiece.

For Den Amstel, Anthony Benn and Reuben Dainty scored in the 59th and 68th minute respectively.

Meanwhile, Pouderoyen dismantled Wales FC 6-2. Keanu Lawrence recorded a five-goal haul in the sixth, 22nd, 24th, 30th, and 90th+2 minute, while Devin Gaskin netted in the 80th minute.

For the loser, Andrew Sukram and Telbert Baptiste netted in the 42nd and 50th minute correspondingly. Also, Golden Warriors defeated Crane via a walkover.

On the other hand, the slated showdown between Jetty Gunners and Uitvlugt was deemed a no-contest, after both teams failed to be present at the venue. The event resumes at the same venue with another round of matches.
