Pouderoyen edges Grove Hi Tech in Limacol football

West Demerara giant Pouderoyen FC edged Grove Hi-Tech 2-1, when the 3rd edition of the Limacol Football Championship continued on Saturday.

Second half goals from defenders Sebastian Edwards and Ashley Harding secured the vital result for Pouderoyen, following inconsistent displays throughout the earlier matches in the event.

 Edwards levelled the score compliments of a 65th minute conversion, after Denzil Crawford had given the East Bank of Demerara unit the lead in the 13th minute.

Harding then completed the come from behind victory, as he found the back of the net five minutes onward. Meanwhile, Georgetown Football Club [GFC] overcame a 1-0 deficit to crush Buxton Stars 4-1.

Alberto Basanta, Ronaldo Rodrigues, Rondel Peters and Marcus Wilson scored in the 32nd, 75th, 78th and 85th minute respectively.

For the loser, Shamar Scott netted in the 21st minute. The competition continues tomorrow at the same venue with another group doubleheader. 

In the opening fixture, Riddim Squad will oppose Buxton Stars from 18:00hrs, while the second clash will pit Santos FC against Beacon FC at 20:00hrs.
