Wiltshire, Verwey remain on course to capture squash titles 

Shomari Wiltshire and Nicholas Verwey remained unbeaten and looked set to capture the category A and B individual titles in the 2018 edition of the Farfan & Mendes Junior Skill level squash tournament after the duo recorded triumphs on Friday evening as the tournament winds down at the Georgetown Club Squash Court. 

Wiltshire who continues to look unbeatable cruised past Michael Alphonso nonchalantly in straight sets.   

Verwey on the other hand whose junior career continues to progress nicely, defeated Demetrius De Abreu in straight sets in their category B encounter 11-3, 11-5, 11-9.  

Meanwhile, Samuel Ince – Carvalhal who had a surprising first-round defeat at the hands of Alphonso, rebounded last evening and defeated Gianni Carpenter 11-8, 11-7, 11-9 in their category A match.  

Zachary Persaud, on the other hand, defeated Osmond Mack 11-6, 11-2, 11-1 in the lone category C match of the evening.  

Category E winners saw Lucas Persaud defeating Rayad Boyce 11-7, 9-11, 11-9 as Aishani Persaud came from a set down to defeat Aram Chan 3-11, 11-9, 11-9.  

Matthew Daby defeated Tiana Gomes 13-11, 11-9 in the lone category G match of the night.  

Shriyah Persaud and Soloman Ince –Carvalhal were the other winners on the night after they defeated Jane Singh and Eli Goveia respectively in the Category H proceedings.  

The tournament will conclude today at the same venue.
