Management of Elections completely within charge of Chief Election Officer

Dear Editor,

Why is it that all the parties involved are substantively misdirecting themselves?

Careful reading of the relevant Act would show that the management of Elections is completely within the charge of the Chief Election Officer (CEO). All relevant staff report to that office.

Having regard to the management style of the last Chairman, even Commissioners were misled into viewing through his prism that they had substantive responsibility.

The current CEO grew up in that confused environment and since finds it convenient to renege on his legal responsibility.

He should now be required to stand up and be counted.

Yours faithfully,

E.B. John
