Milo Schools football competition resumes today

The seventh annual Milo Secondary Schools football competition resumes today at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue with four group matches.

In the opening clash from 11:00hrs, South Ruimveldt will oppose St. Joseph’s High while at 12:45rs, Annandale will tackle Canje Secondary.

The third contest will pit Lodge Secondary against Marian Academy from 14:30hrs while in the final fixture, President’s College will lock horns with St. Mary’s at 16:15hrs.

The tournament continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of group fixtures.

In the opening matchup, the Bishops’ High will take aim at St. Stanislaus College from 15:30hrs while Queen’s College will lock horns with North Ruimveldt at 17:10hrs.

The tourney which is set to conclude April 14th, features 24 teams divided into six groups of four.

Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers in each pool, alongside the best four third place teams, advance to the elimination round.

Winner of the competition receives $500,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy. Similarly, the second, third and fourth-placed sides pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively towards a school initiative and a trophy.
