KFC, Ansa McAl partners with GFF for Belize clash

KFC Guyana and Ansa McAl under its Stag Beer Brand, have joined the growing list of corporate entities that have partnered with the Guyana Football Federation [GFF] ahead of the Golden Jaguars CONCACAF Nations League clash with Belize on March 23rd.

Guyana will faceoff with the 13th placed Belize at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora in a must-win encounter.

Victory for either side would effectively clinch their participation in the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Guyana currently sits in eighth place on six points.

According to an official release, Ansa McAl has acquired the ‘Beer Rights’ for the encounter while KFC has purchased 200 tickets which will be disbursed to patrons.

Errol Nelson, Business Unit Head of Ansa McAl’s Non-Alcoholic Beverage Division said, “ANSA McAL has had a long and fruitful relationship with the Guyana Football Federation over the years. We are pleased to be once again onboard with GFF to ensure the successful hosting of Concacaf Nations League games in Guyana.”

He added, “I would like wish our Golden Jaguars success in their encounter with Belize on the 23rd March. Additionally, I would want to urge all the supporters and fans of football to come out and support the game, the ANSA McAL bars and help us to make the event a grand success.”

The Ansa McAl presentation occurred at the entity’s Beterverwagting [BV] headquarters.

GFF Technical Ian Greenwood in response said, “The GFF expresses gratitude to the Ansa Mc Al Group for their timely partnership. A match of this magnitude requires all hands on board and Ansa Mc Al must be acknowledged for recognizing this and being an enduring partner. This is the Golden Jaguars’ chance to create history for all Guyana and partnerships such as that of Ansa McAl’s ensure that the significance of the event is appreciated by all.”

On the other hand, KFC Guyana Marketing Assistant Carina Westford following the presentation at the company’s Vlissengen Road location said, “KFC Guyana fully supports the GFF and its phenomenal match coming up – our own Golden Jaguars vs Belize. We encourage all to come and support our home team because they are amazing. The public can get their tickets at our Regent Street and Mandela Avenue branches.”

She  added, “We believe in the importance of sports and its relationship to the development of youth. It is a great alternative to activities, which are not beneficial to the development of youth such as crime so we fully support sports and, in this instance, football in our country.”

Meanwhile, Sueria Manufacturing joined the list of sponsors, donating 100 cases of their Aqua-Pur water for the team’s training and match following a simple presentation ceremony on Monday.
