(Jamaica Gleaner) Alleged quack doctor Alicia England was denied bail yesterday when she made her second appearance in the St James Parish Court to answer to fraud charges as her true identity has not yet been verified despite a previous court order to have this done.

Crane mother of five believed murdered

Decomposed remains suspected to be those of a mother of five who was reported missing several days ago were yesterday afternoon found buried in a shallow grave next door to her husband’s Crane, West Coast Demerara home and he has been taken into custody.

Dear Editor, Earlier in the year, when the announcement was made by the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) that pensioners receiving $30,000 monthly would have received a further $2,000, as of January, 2019 on their monthly pension, it was reasonable to assume that this increase was going to be across the board, calculated based on a percentage, similar to what has been done with the workers— the higher your salary, the less you get percentage wise.
