The Youth Basketball Guyana [YBG] Promotional group donated the winners’ trophy and the sum of $100,000 towards the staging of the Linden leg of the ‘Regional Conference Schools Championship’, which is slated to commence today.

The six-team tournament will be staged at the Mackenzie High School hard-court.

In the opening match, Mackenzie High opposes Linden Foundation at 14:00hrs, while Linden Technical Institute [LTI] will match skills with Wisburg from 16:00hrs.

YBG Director Chris Bowman made the presentation to Secretary of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association [LABA] Joseph Chapman.

Bowman during brief remarks said, “Looking back at the partnership between YBG and LABA we are happy once again to have this arrangement with LABA. Ideally that should be the arrangement and should be for all the associations.”

The event continues tomorrow  with three more matches at the same venue. Mackenzie High will tackle Wisburg from 13:00hrs, with LTI engaging New Silver City at 14:30hrs.

In the final match, Christianburg/Wismar battles Linden Foundation from 16:00hrs.
