Retrieve Raiders and Victory Valley Royals secured easy wins when the Linden Amateur Basketball Association [LABA] / Youth Basketball Guyana [YBG] Under 19 Club Championships commenced Sunday at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard-court.
Raiders defeated Amelia’s Ward Jets 46-32. Stephon Duncan led the way with a game-high 17 points while Kareem Roberts chipped in with 11 points. For the losers, Jennies Benjamin top scored with 13 points with Gaius George adding 10 points.
Similarly, Victory Valley Royals dismissed Kings 46-31. Kobe Tappin recorded a monstrous 24 points in the rout. For the losers, Carmillo Man Hing and Tyrese Arthur tallied seven and six points respectively. The tournament continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
At 18:00hrs, Retrieve Raiders will oppose Kings while Victory Valley Royals battle Amelia’s Ward Jets from 20:00hrs.
