The body of a hire car driver of Adventure Village, Corentyne, was discovered just after lunch yesterday on the shoulder of the Corentyne Highway, while his car was found in a nearby trench.

Dead is Lynsay Grant, 39.

According to his wife, Natasha Rambarose, her husband left home to work the Adventure/Black Bush route in his black car, HC 3695, around 10 am on Sunday. She said she told her husband that it was okay for him to stay out as late as 11 pm, since it was Father’s Day. However, the man, the father of a 12-year-old girl, never returned home, worrying his wife the entire night.

The vehicle after it was pulled from the trench.

Rambarose noted that yesterday morning she and her mother decided to launch a search for him. She said they discovered his body just after lunch yesterday, directly at the end of Adventure Village, Corentyne. The woman suspected that her husband was involved in an accident which landed his car in the nearby trench, and that he attempted to come out of the car and crawled to the shoulder of the road, where he succumbed.

Grant’s body is currently at Ramoo’s Funeral Home, located in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

An investigation has been launched into the matter.
