A Number 56 Village, Corentyne man was yesterday found dead in a trench at Bushlot Village, Corentyne.
Dead is Shamnarine Nowrang also known as ‘Shammy’, 61, a farmer of Lot 134 Number 56 Village, Corentyne.
According to information gathered, Drupattie Nowrang also known as ‘Devi’, 57, also a farmer, reported to police that Nowrang is her husband and suffers from fits. The woman said that on Monday she and Nowrang attended a funeral service at Bush Lot Farm Village, Corentyne and stayed a night at a relative’s house.
Yesterday around 7 am she woke up and prepared breakfast for her husband after which he subsequently left.
She said, that around 8. 30 am while she was at her family’s home at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice, they were informed that Nowrang was seen with his head in a trench about two house lots away. Residents yesterday told Stabroek News that it was suspected that Nowrang had an epileptic attack and fell into the nearby trench.
