SandPipers Cricket Club to host T10 tapeball tournament

SandPipers Cricket Club is set to bowl off its annual Soesdyke Premier League (SPL) T10 Tape Ball Cricket tournament, beginning Sunday and culminating on August 31. 

The tournament is set  to have several battle arenas including the Soesdyke Community Centre Ground and the Airport Cricket Ground, Timehri, East Bank Demerara.

A total of 12 teams will be participating in this tournament, including Sandpipers A and B, Eccles All Stars and Airport XI.

This event will be played on a round-robin basis after which the top eight teams will qualify for the knockout stages to contest the quarter-finals and the semifinals and finals, thereafter. 

Matches will begin at 9:30hrs with the exception of the semifinals and final which will be played under lights as teams vie for the top prize of $100,000.

Other cash prizes will go to the individuals who end the tournament as the leading wicket-taker, leading run scores, and the man of the match in the final.
