NSC, Secure Innovations and Concept Inc., sponsorships for schoolboys boxing c/ships

The National Sports Commission (NSC) and Secure Innovations and Concept Inc. are the latest to partner with the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) for the staging of the fourth Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors Boxing Championships later this month.

The timely partnerships were made official yesterday when Director Of Sport, Christopher Jones presented a sponsorship pact to President of the association, Steve Ninvalle during a simple ceremony at the Commission’s headquarters.

Moments later, Harold Hopkinson, the CEO of Secure Innovations and Concept Inc. presented a ringside boxing bell to Ninvalle. Hopkinson stated that he chose to make the presentation of the bell after noticing the one that was used at the Novices Championships needed to be replaced.

Director Of Sport, Christopher Jones presented a sponsorship pact to President of the Guyana Boxing Association, Steve Ninvalle during a simple ceremony at the Commission’s headquarters yesterday.

Ninvalle thanked Jones on behalf of the government for the continued support and explained that the sponsorship will go a long way in the development of the local boxing. The GBA head then disclosed that the event will be renamed after a standout local amateur boxer on Friday.

Meanwhile, Jones then pledged the government’s continued support for the annual international fixture. 

“We have recognized the growth of this championships and we will continue to lend support. These youngsters have the opportunity to expose their talent and we will be aiding in their development” said Jones.

The annual championships will be staged from August 16-18 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and is scheduled to feature boxers from Barbados, Grenada, Cayman Islands, Dominica, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago. It is a significant improvement for a tournament which started with just three countries.

E-Networks, Courts, Associated Packers Industry (API) and Massy Distribution are among the other sponsors so far. The championship is scheduled to commence at 18:00h nightly. Ringside tickets cost $1,500 each, stands $500 and season tickets (every day) $4,000.
