Ramnauth plays lone hand to guide Port Mourant past DCC

West Indies Under – 15 batsman  Rampertab Ramnauth almost single-handedly guided the Port Mourant Cricket Club to a six-wicket win over the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) at Port Mourant Sunday in a 40-overs Under – 15 fixture.

The stylish-left hander, who is certainly a talent for the future, struck an unbeaten innings of 81 including six fours to guide his team to 140 – 6 in reply to DCC’s 139 -8. 

No other batsman reached double figures for the Port Mourant side as Kareem Caesar nabbed 2-19 for DCC in a losing cause. 

Earlier, DCC after being inserted, posted 139 – 8 with Romeo Deonarain top-scoring with a knock of 32 while Jonathan Van Lange (20), Jayden Campbell (17) and Jeremiah Hohenkirk (16) played supporting roles. 

Salim Khan was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, taking 3-18 from eight overs. A return leg of the match is set to occur.
