Seven postmen and women have made it through to the semi-finals after the completion of the preliminary leg of the Post Trivia competition.

A release from the Guyana Post Office Corporation yesterday said that the semifinalists are Desmona Rodney of Buxton, Marecia Braithwaite of Agri-cola, Lashana Harcourt of Ogle, Onecia Blackett from Mails branch, Alesa Dun-can of Danielstown, Andriana Worthen of MacKenzie and Kelon Joseph of the Parcels Branch.

The competition which kicks off one week of activities to celebrate World Post Day 2019 was held at the Post Office Training School in Lamaha Street. Two representatives from each of the six areas that cover the length and breadth of Guyana, along with two from the Mails and Parcels branch vied to show their expert knowledge of the Letter Carrier manual and other relevant facts about GPOC.

Each competitor faced 20 questions, and the top seven were chosen to move onto the semi-final round of the competition, which will take place on Friday, November 15, 2019.

Judging the postmen and women were former Postmaster General Noel Phillips, recently retired Deputy Postmaster General,  Abdul Hassan and retired Assistant Postmaster General Leon Dickson. Claude Griffith, the Postmaster for Campbellville, functioned as the quiz master.
