Jefford Classic champion athletes rewarded

The champion athletes of the 2019 Jefford Track and Field Classic were rewarded for their heroics yesterday at the MVP Sports store located in the Giftland Mall,

During a ceremony at the establishment, Giftland Mall’s  CEO, Ian Ramdeo, presented Natasha Alder and Cassie Small, with footwear and ‘Under Armor’ apparel. 

Alder took the spoils after she won the Shot Put, Discus and Javelin events at the meet which took place at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground while Small won the 100m, 200m and 400m sprints.

During brief remarks at the presentation, Small stated the following “Thanks to God and my coach and everyone that helped me.” Alder, who is a Police officer, shared similar sentiments, “Thanks to God and the Police administration and Edison Jefford for a wonderful event,” she declared.

Meanwhile, Ramdeo noted said, “Our support (of Track and Field and the Jefford Classic) is ongoing and it will continue throughout the years. Thanks to Edison for allowing us to be part of the programme and we look forward for our continued partnership.”

The champion male athlete, Jermaine Simmons was not on hand to receive his gear.
