Van Lange, Layne, Nicholas capture ‘Mike Clark Challenge titles’

Junior national player Jonathan Van Lange, Isaiah Layne and Jamal Nicholas captured the major titles up for grabs at the recent Mike Clarke Challenge at Red Cross building. 

Van Lange defeated Nicholas in the ‘B’ class final but the result was reversed when the two young men clashed in the Under – 18 Open final. 

Van Lange drew a bye to the ‘B’ class final while Nicholas accounted for Isaiah Layne in the other semifinal.

The Under – 18 semis saw Nicholas downing Niran Bissu as Van Lange went straight through to the title match. 

Meanwhile, the Under – 15 top honours went to Layne who defeated Van Lange to cop top honours.  Layne, en route to the final, defeated Kristina Sahadeo while Van Lange had the better of Colin Wong. 

Jasmine Billing won the under -11 Open title while Sumaria Sukai and Chase Outar came in second and third, respectively. Colin France, on the other hand, won the vets title.
