Police arrest Everest as Hutson bags nine

Police Sports Club (PSC), at home, completed an innings and 117 run win over Everest in the ongoing Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA), Noble House Seafoods, second-division, two-day competition yesterday. 

Everest, who resumed the day on 61-5, still trailing by a massive 262 runs with four wickets in hand, were bundled out for 100 in 39 overs with off-spinner Rocky Hutson collecting figures of 6-24 to lead the rout while Pernell London claimed 4-37. 

 Police enforced the follow on as Everest still trailed by 223 runs.

The decision proved to be successful as the visitors were once again dismissed, this time for 106 with Hutson (3-10) finishing with a match haul of 9-34. Keston Hardcourt (3-21) found useful movement. 

 Scores in the match: Police 323-9; Andrew Lyght Jr., 123, Chemroy Kendall 58, Ameer Singh 49, Raylex Payne (4-68), Javed Rasheed (3-75) defeat Everest 100 Hutson 6-24, London 4-37 and 106 Hutson 3-10, Hardcourt 3-21 by an innings and 117 runs 

 Meanwhile, over at DCC, the hosts captured first innings points from UG as the two sides played to a draw. 

 DCC resumed the final day on 120-6, 83 runs adrift from first innings and gained first innings points after being dismissed for 213 from 71.2 overs. 

 Carlton Jacques who resumed the day on 31, recorded an even 50 while Gustavo Hutson dug in for an unbeaten 44. Dequan Bamfield contributed 34. 

 Yekini Favourite took 3-77 from 19 overs; he was ably supported by leg-spinner Ershaad Ali (2-65). Batting a second time, UG made 161 all out from 32.1 overs. 

 Laurel Parks (29), Beepaul Bamboo (29) and Ershaad Ali (24) all failed to convert starts as Gustavo Hutson (3-62), Darwin Christian (2-18) and  Dexter George (2-9) emerged as the key wicket-takers. 

 Set a target of 152 to win from a maximum of 16 overs, DCC ended on 30-1 when both captains decided to call the match off.
