Buxton United, Pouderoyen seal berths in Turbo knockout football

Buxton United u20 and Pouderoyen earned their berths to the third edition of the Turbo Knockout Football tournament, following playoff round wins on Tuesday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The Buxtonians humbled Beacons 6-0. The first conversion emanated from Omari Glasgow, the eventual scorer of a hat-trick, who placed his free-kick into the lower right corner from the top of the box in the 20th minute.

Tyrice Dennis recorded the second in the 32nd minute, stabbing into the back of the net, after an initial penalty save was parried into his path. The rout continued in the second half as Glasgow grabbed his second in the 48th minute, blasting a powerful effort from the right side of the box into the left corner.

Colin Henriques then got into the scoring act in the 57th minute, slotting through the legs of the advancing goalkeeper down the centre of the goal following a one on one situation. The scoreline ballooned to 5-0 three minutes onward, with Jamar Harrigon making his presence felt with a powerful shot into the left-hand corner.

Glasgow completed the lopsided scoreline in the 80th minute, as he sealed his deserved hat-trick, racing down the left side before cutting into the penalty area and rifling his effort into the roof of the right corner.

Meanwhile, Pouderoyen overcame Eastveldt 2-1. Meshach Barratt handed the East Ruimveldt unit the lead in the 51st minute, slotting home unchallenged inside the six-yard box, after latching onto a flat right-sided cross.

The lead proved to be short-lived as Kwesi Alleyne equalized for Pouderoyen two minutes later, lashing a first time strike from the top of the box into the left-hand corner.

The come-from-behind win was then sealed in the 89th minute as E J Marks scored, uncorking a thunderous strike from 30 yards out in the centre of the field which settled into the top left-hand corner.
