Guyana Rush Saints win male, female titles

Guyana Rush Saints made a clean sweep of the male and female titles when the inaugural GTM Insurance-sponsored Under-17 football tournament concluded Sunday at the St. Ignatius Village Sports ground.

Guyana Rush Saints defeated Tabatinga in both divisions to walk away with the coveted title and medals. The runners-up collected the respective accolade and medals.

The three-day event was staged under the auspices of the Rupununi Chamber of Commerce and organized by the Rupununi Football Association. The competition featured seven male clubs and four female clubs.

The other male clubs were Surama, Terminators, Rising Stars, Shiriri and Far East United Sports Club. The females were also represented by Terminators and Far East United.

Chief Executive Officer of GTM, Roger Yee and staff which included Ronald Nandlall, Travis Peters, Rayon Bostwick, Pheon Dryden and Rolando Sugrim were present for the duration of the tournament.
