Construction firm sponsoring Annai Secondary for KFC football championship

Guyana Coema Construction Services Inc (GCCS) has officially joined the list of sponsors for the second edition of the KFC Goodwill Secondary School Football Championship, inking a partnership pact yesterday during a simple ceremony at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The company, which is based in Region Nine, will be sponsoring the Annai Secondary School for the duration of the event.

Derrick Melville, GCCS Operations Manager, said that the company is happy to be afforded the opportunity to be a part of the event. He added that sports and community development is one of the major priorities of the company and said that the firm is looking forward to maintaining the partnership between the entities.

Meanwhile, Petra Organisation Co-Director Troy Mendonca thanked the company for accepting their proposal. He said that corporate support is required in developing sports and individuals which is important to the overall development of the nation.

The event runs from December 14th-22nd and will feature six teams along with two international institutions, USL Montjoly Academy of French Guiana and defending champion Shiva Boys’ Hindu College of Trinidad & Tobago.

The Desrey Fox Secondary School (Waramadong) of Region 7 and the top two teams from the GuyOil Schools’ Football League, which is set to start shortly, will also be included. The teams will be divided into two groups of three. At the conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers will advance to the knockout round.
