GBTI GCC Tigers, Old Fort and Saints were amongst the winners when the 15th edition of the Diamond Mineral Water Indoor Hockey Festival commenced on Wednesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

GBTI GCC Tigers mauled Spartans 8-1 in the Women’s Division. Marzana Fiedtkou tallied a hat-trick while Sonia Jardine scored twice. Adding one goal each were Ashley DeGroot, Gabriella Xavier and Tiffany Solomon. For the loser, Abosaide Cadogan was the lone goal scorer.

Continuing in the Women’s Division, Saints defeated Red Wyne 4-2. Tekeisha Deleon recorded a hat-trick while Claysia Bobb netted once for the winner. For Red Wyne, Tamala Glenn and Minsodia Culpepper were on target in the loss.

In the Veteran’s Section, Old Fort defeated GCC Vintage 5-3. Jason DeSantos recorded two goals while, John Abraham, Adrian Brandt and Dwight Sullivan scored one apiece. For the loser, Kevin Spencer and Dwayne Scott netted one goal each.

Meanwhile, in other results, Old Fort and Pepsi Hikers battled to a 4-4 draw in the Men’s Division. For Hikers, Robert France bagged a double while Aroydy Branford and Jamarj Assanah netted one goal apiece. For Old Fort, Omar Hopkinson tallied a double while Aderemi Simon and Warren Williams scored one goal each.

Also, GCC defeated Saints 2-1. Steven Xavier and Kevin Spencer scored for the winner while Seon Sookhai netted for the loser. Matches continue all week at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with the finals set for Sunday evening.
