A Federal Management Systems employee was granted bail after denying that she stole money from her ex-partner.

Audrey Underwood, 42, of Lot 153 Lime Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, was yesterday arraigned before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to stealing money from her ex-partner.

It is alleged that between November 27th and December 2nd, at Lime Street, Werk-en-Rust, Underwood stole $300,000 in cash from Andre Lewis.

The woman, who was unrepresented by counsel, told the court that she is a hard working security officer at Federal Management Systems and she would never steal from someone. She said that she met Lewis last April on a cruise and began dating him. Underwood related that she and Lewis began to live together but she later ended the relationship. She told the court that Lewis did not take the termination of the relationship kindly. She alleged that he told her that he would have her arrested.

With no objections from the police prosecutor, Underwood was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 and ordered to return to court on December 18th.
